0 “Rosemary’s Baby,” by Roman Polanski, is a dark, macabre movie that makes you feel like you’re in terrible danger. Strangely, it also has a weird sense of humor that lasts almost to the end. It’s a scary and creepy movie with lots of things that go bump into the night. It is excellent. Everyone must know by now that the movie is based on Ira Levin’s book about witches and demons in the present day. But it’s not just a suspense story. Story
Roman Polanski wrote the screenplay about a woman named Rosemary and her husband, Guy (John Cassavetes), as they move into a new house. Even though their lives may seem fine, everything changes when they meet The Cassavetts, played by Sidney Blackmer and Ruth Gordon. Their lives will never be the same.
Review
A brilliant adaption of Ira Levin’s Satanic thriller. The film’s appeal derives from Polanski’s refusal to simplify matters: we never know if Farrow’s fear of a witches’ coven is real or a fiction of her frustrated mind. Sexual politics, urban alienation, and a highly gloomy vision of human connection dominate the film, directed with a gradual, meticulous pace build-up and exquisite visual composition. There is little gore or outright violence, but the blending of reality and fantasy and Farrow’s steady transformation from a healthy, happily married wife to a troubled, painfully confused shell of her former self is disturbing. Excellent performances and Krzysztof Komeda’s sombre score.

Acting
The actors in the movie are fantastic. Mia Farrow is very good at playing a woman in trouble. Farrow really shows off her acting skills in this movie when her life starts to fall apart after she meets her neighbors. Farrow shows in this movie that she is not afraid to deal with scary topics like the ones in this m4u free movies. Ruth Gordon, who plays the nosy neighbor Minnie Cassavett, is also a great actor. Gordon’s performance of Minnie in the movie is so creepy and stalker-like that it makes my blood boil every time I see her on screen. Gordon plays Minnie in such a difficult way, but she also wakes Rosemary up from daydreaming about a perfect life, which makes her character even creepier.
Cinematographer
Even though Rosemary’s Baby is a little soft and has some grain, the way it was shot is so beautiful that you can almost overlook that it wasn’t transferred perfectly. Polanski is such a visual master that every shot shows that he and cinematographer William Fraker planned it carefully and worked well together. Richard Sylbert did a great job with the production design, and the Dakota Building is almost another character in the movie. It’s a strange fact of history that John Lennon was shot outside the same building. All of this is made even better by the fantastic costumes and set design.
The Sound
This gomovies app isn’t about the effects, so the mono soundtrack works perfectly well to ensure the dialogue is clear, and the incredible score by Christopher Komeda goes well with the visuals. I don’t know how, but using Beethoven’s Für Elise adds to the feeling of unease and tension, even though it should do the opposite.
Final thought
Rosemary’s Baby is one of the most elegantly shot and classy horror movies. It’s nothing like The Texas Chain-Saw Massacre, but it’s just as scary and unsettling. It’s not a full-on assault on the senses, and there aren’t any jump scares or buckets of blood. Instead, it works on a different level, with a more disturbing ending than the book.
