I first watched Sharknado during its initial airing on the SyFy Channel back in 2013. I remember thinking to myself, “This is the most ridiculous thing I’ve ever seen.” And yet, I couldn’t look away. I was glued to the screen for the entire movie, captivated by the ridiculousness of it all.

Since then, I’ve probably watched Sharknado at least a dozen times. I own all three movies on Blu-ray and have even seen the live Sharknado musical. And I’m not alone in my love for this franchise.

The Sharknado franchise has become a pop culture phenomenon, spawning merchandise, memes, and even a ride at Universal Studios. And it’s all thanks to the fact that Sharknado is just so darn entertaining.

There’s no denying that Sharknado is a stupid movie. It’s filled with plot holes, bad acting, and some of the most ridiculous special effects you’ll ever see. But that’s what makes it so great.
